Radish Music

LOS ANGELES, USA // Alec Stern is the Senior Music Supervisor at Radish Music. The campaigns he's led have achieved wide industry recognition, including a Cannes Lions Grand Prix, Grand Clio, and an Emmy for Outstanding Commercial. Through Radish and his previous tenure as the Director of Music at the Chicago advertising agency DDB, he has led music efforts for global brands such as Samsung, Adobe, Capital One, Google, Walmart, McDonald’s, Jeep and Delta Airlines, and has created full-scale music strategies for clients such as Miller Lite, The U.S. Army, Sonic, and Kellogg’s. Culturally, his brand work has had immense mainstream recognition, from producing the highly publicized Skittles Commercial: The Broadway Musical in 2019, landing the first-ever use of a Prince recording in an ad, and finding the music to soundtrack P&G’s “#LikeAGirl”, which landed at #18 on the Drum’s list of the Definitive 100 Best TV and Video Ads of All Time.

New to the longform side, his first television series as a music coordinator, AppleTV+’s Super League: The War For Football won a coveted Sports Emmy for Outstanding Documentary Series, and along with his colleague Gemma Schladow, the first screened film he music supervised, Adult Best Friends, was selected at 2024’s Tribeca Film Festival, earning rave reviews from The Hollywood Reporter, Roger Ebert Co., and others.

Outside of supervision, Alec is an accomplished artist, composer, and producer whose collaborations have been featured by Billboard, Complex, and Lyrical Lemonade. He's a member of the Recording Academy, and is deeply passionate about mentoring young artists in creativity and industry comprehension, as well as social justice. As a music-centric writer, he’s had essays and think-pieces featured by prestige publications such as Fake Shore Drive, Ruby Hornet, and PopMatters, as well as the paperback anthology Best Damn Hip Hop Writing. His highly-circulated monthly newsletter Music Matters has become a coveted creative industry resource for readers around the globe. He’s also a DJ, routinely performing vinyl-only sets around Los Angeles under the moniker DJ Young Health, as well as an aspiring painter.
