WESTCHESTER, USA // Nicole Kankam is Managing Director, Pro Tennis Marketing and Entertainment for the United States Tennis Association overseeing all marketing and entertainment for the US Open Tennis Championships, in addition to the full professional tennis portfolio of events including USTA Pro Circuit, Davis Cup, and Billie Jean King Cup.

During her tenure at the USTA, Kankam has spearheaded the award-winning marketing efforts around the US Open, the largest annually attended sporting event in the world, including driving record-setting ticket sales and fan engagement, as well as developing inspiring social justice campaigns.

Prior to the USTA, Kankam served as the senior director for consumer marketing at World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (WWE), where she led a consumer marketing team in developing integrated marketing plans to increase viewership and attendance at fan events.

In a career that has spanned 25+ years in the sports and entertainment industry, Kankam has held positions with other notable brands including MTV, Virgin Mobile, and Atlantic Records.

Kankam also serves on the board of the New York Junior Tennis and Learning organization, the Global Entertainment Marketing Academy of Arts and Sciences, and is the executive advisor for the USTA’s Working Parents Business Resource Group. She has received numerous accolades for her work in championing women and underrepresented groups in sports including Sports Illustrated 100 most influential women in sports and Sports Business Journal’s Game Changers.

A native of Akron, Ohio, Kankam graduated with honors from DePaul University, where she earned a bachelor’s of music in music business, and she subsequently earned her MBA from the New York University Stern School of Business, where she was a Consortium for Graduate Study in Management fellow. Kankam currently lives in New Rochelle, New York, with her husband and their two children, Essien and Estelle.
