LOS ANGELES, USA // A series of injuries prematurely ended Derek’s college football career. This took him off the field and behind the lens. Despite the injuries, he’s still in the game. Derek is an award-winning creative director, who’s found that the figurative game of advertising is very similar to football: colors bleed, pencils break and even pages tear.

Currently, Derek is a creative director at Deutsch LA. He supports Taco Bell serving as a creative visionary on campaigns featuring global superstar LeBron James, actor Jason Sudeikis, Las Vegas Raiders’ Davante Adams and more.

While working with an array of brands over the years, he’s garnered accolades including Adweek’s Creative 100, One Club ADC Silver Cube, a feature at the Tribeca Film Festival and a Vimeo Staff Pick.

Outside of creative directing, Derek also directs film. He specializes in immersive storytelling and stunning cinematography while staying true to his roots when creating his work.

The personal mantra that guides his creative vision: “When it’s all said and done, the grind never stops and nor can we.”
